Incense Burners

Christian Incense Burners for Prayer and Worship

The rising of fragrant smoke has accompanied Christian prayer for centuries. Our incense accessories bring that ancient tradition into your own prayer space, with handcrafted burners and censers made in the Holy Land. Whether for church use, a home altar or a quiet moment of meditation, these pieces help turn prayer into something you can see, breathe and remember.

The Meaning of Incense in Christian Tradition

Burning incense is far more than atmosphere. In Scripture, the rising smoke is an image of prayer ascending to God - "Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense" (Psalm 141:2). It signifies purification and the presence of the Holy Spirit, and has been part of worship since the earliest days of the Church. To light a censer at home is to join that long and sacred tradition.

Our Handcrafted Incense Burners

The collection offers a range of styles to suit your space, each made by Christian artisans in the Holy Land.

Brass and Metal Censers

Our metal incense burners come in gold, polished bronze and silver finishes, several topped with a cross. Built in three parts - a cross-topped lid that keeps the charcoal safe and catches falling ash, a sturdy brass-plated metal bowl, and a clear acrylic holder with a base so the burner can be moved without risk of a burn - they stand around 20cm (7.9 inches) tall and double as a beautiful decorative piece.

Natural Wood Incense Burners

For a warmer, quieter look, our natural ash-wood box burners offer excellent thermal conductivity, with a small charcoal bowl, a drawer to store your incense, and a lid that keeps the charcoal safe and prevents ash from falling. Compact at around 10cm square, they suit a bedside table or prayer corner.

How to Use a Charcoal Incense Burner

Using a censer is simple. Light a charcoal disc and place it in the metal bowl, then add a little resin incense or an incense cone on top and let the fragrant smoke rise. The cross-topped lid keeps everything safe while it burns. Cleaning is easy too: once the charcoal has burned out completely, remove the plate, dispose of the ash, and the burner is ready to use again.

For Church, Home and Meditation

An incense burner is wonderfully versatile. It is at home in a church or on a household altar, and equally suited to a bedroom, living room, study, office or meditation and yoga space, where it helps purify the air and ease stress. Many keep one beside their rosaries and crosses as part of a dedicated prayer corner.

A Thoughtful Religious Gift

A handcrafted censer makes a meaningful gift for clergy, a prayerful household, or anyone setting up a space for devotion. It pairs beautifully with a Jerusalem cross, a Nativity set for the home, or a piece of religious jewellery.
